During the CNC machining process, if you encounter the following problems, do you know how to deal with them?

1.Collider-Programming:

Reason:

  • There is a deviation between the processing path and the coordinate position set in the program.

  • The safety height is not enough or has not been set (the knife or chuck hits the workpiece during rapid feed G00).

  •  Improper tool selection.

Improve:

  • Set the processing parameters reasonably according to the machine.

  • Accurately measure the height of the workpiece and ensure that the safe height is above the workpiece.

  • Choose the appropriate tool according to the machine conditions.

2. Collision-Operator:

 Reason:

  • Use the wrong tool (for example, use D9 tool to process D4 tool)

  • The hand wheel rotates in the wrong direction during manual operation.

  • Improper operation and lack of familiarity with machine operation.

Improve:

  • Correctly set the tool length and radius compensation.

  • Set the manual feed speed reasonably and pay close attention to the relative position of the tool and the workpiece.

  • Strengthen daily training for operating staff to reduce the occurrence of machine collisions.

3. Broken knife problem:

Reason:

  • Improper setting of processing parameters (such as cutting speed, feed speed, depth of cut, etc.). Excessive cutting load will cause excessive pressure on the tool, leading to tool breakage.

  • The workpiece is not firmly clamped or the fixture design is unreasonable, causing the workpiece to vibrate or move during the processing, resulting in uneven cutting forces, which may cause the tool to break.

  • The operator is not accurate when operating manually.

Improve:u

  • Cutting parameters, tolerances, allowances, speed and feed settings must be reasonable.

  • When the tool is clamped, blow it clean with an air gun or wipe it clean with a rag.

  • Manual operations should be carefully checked repeatedly, and the tool should be set at the same point as much as possible.

4. The problem of flying materials:

Reason:

  • The set cutting parameters are unreasonable.

  • Improper tool selection.

  • The workpiece is not firmly fixed.

  • Unreasonable cutting path design, such as improper cutting sequence, too fast or too slow feed, etc.

Improve:

  • Adjust appropriate cutting parameters according to material characteristics, tool type and machine tool performance.

  • Choose appropriate tools according to material characteristics and avoid using inappropriate tool types.

  • Ensure that the workpiece is firmly fixed and check the stability of the fixture and chuck.

  • Optimize the cutting path and rationally design the processing program.

5. Processing knife patterns:

Reason:

  • The tool is in poor condition, the tool is worn, chipped, the tool surface is uneven, or the material of the tool is not suitable for the workpiece material.

  • The cutting parameter settings are inappropriate.

  • There are deviations in the programming tool path design.

  • The cutting tool is inappropriate.

Improve:

  • Check the wear status of the tool before processing, replace or grind the tool in time to ensure the tool surface is smooth.

  • Set cutting parameters reasonably to ensure smooth cutting process.

  • Optimize the tool path to avoid repeated cutting and excessive return, while ensuring a smooth transition of the tool path in the program.

  • Select the appropriate tool according to the type and hardness of the material, and ensure that the tool matches the processing conditions.
